How far back does anti-semitism go?
2000 years to the Roman times.
How did anti-semitism really start?
It was a rival religion to the dominating Christianity. Rumors were made about Jews to make them look bad through demonising them.
Why did Jews spread?
Being disliked they were expelled from lands and countries causing refugee waves across Europe and them settling in other areas.
When did the Holocaust take place?
During WWII
What other groups were killed by Nazis?
Gypsies, Soviet and Polish civillians, the disabled, gay men, religious and political oppenents and prisoners of war.
How did the Nazi’s keep control over Germany?
-Terror
-Propaganda
-Youth
-Economic success
Why did people vote for Hitler?
-After the economic crash, many workers were unemployed, Hitler promised them jobs.
-He offered a solution to all of Germany’s problems, exterminate the Jews.
-With him in power, the communist threat would be over, this appealed to the rich.
-Hitler was also very charismatic amd a man of the people

-1933-35: German re-armament
-1936: Conscription and reoccupation of the Rhineland
-Mar 1938: Joining of Austria to Germany
-Sep 1938: The Munich agreement, the occupation of the Sudetenland under the condition Hitler leaves the rest of Czecho-Slovakia alone
-Mar 1939: Munich agreement broken
-Sep 1939: On September 1st, Poland is invaded and war is declared
