A communist government was set up in Lublin. Stalin was convinced to accept a coalition in the Lublin ministration with the government in exile in London.

He was criticised in 1945 for a soft attitude to communists. When Molotov visited, he was told to adhere to agreements made at Yalta. Molotov claimed Truman was being too harsh, to which Truman claimed if he didn’t give him reason to be, he would not again.
