How many were kept in Eastern Europe by the USSR after the war? How many metres had their border extended by?
25 million in Eastern Europe were under Red Army control and the border extended by 500 metres.
What happened on 12 April 1945?
Roosevelt died, replaced by Harry Truman who did not promise diplomacy towards the communists.
What was dropped on 16 July 1945 and what was being planned?
The first atom bomb was tested. Truman disclosed little information with regards to this and did not tell Stalin he was ready to drop a bomb on Japan.
What was to be split into four and governed by local administration with central German authority?
Germany and Berlin.
What was to happen to refugees?
They would be repatriated to Germany.
How would they get rid of Nazi influence?
De-Nazification and trying war criminals at an International Court of Justice.
What compensation would West Germany give to the USSR?
25% of industrial equipment would be sent to the East.
