Children can earn money which will help their families.

What is an environmental disadvantage of mining in Africa?
Deforestation for mining reduces habitable areas for wildlife.
Deforestation can result in habitat loss and this can lead to extinction of plants and animals.
Poisonous chemicals, such as mercury and cyanide, are used to extract minerals. These can harm humans if consumed and contaminate water sources which can kill wildlife.
