alarm sounds, then goes silent, sends signal to CMS
Smash/Bash Protection
always connected to the monitoring station
24/7 CMS
can have either door/window or motion/glass break type sensors. This zone type activates an alarm immediately when tripped when the system is armed. They can also be bypassed or have opening and closing event tones associated with them.
Perimeter
uses motion type sensors. The most common setting has a delayed alarm with entry/exit set as a primary, otherwise, it triggers instantly.
Interior
uses a door/window type sensor. Allows the home owner to exit the premise while the system is arming and entry delay countdown when tripped.
Entry/Exit
Usually associated with the 24-hour zone function and cannot be bypassed.
Smoke
this is used for notification such as detecting occupancy which triggers when the rule is met. An example might be someone entering a room and turning on a light.
24-Hr Inform
usually assigned to zones with an emergency button. This sends a report to the monitoring station, but now display or sound is generated.
24-Hr Silent
the state of a specific zone or the control panel as a whole when the control panel is ready there are no faults, alarm or trouble conditions on any zone.
Ready
zone changes state from its normal ready mode. can be bypassed but this creates a hole in the protection envelope.
Fault
when an abnormal condition occurs. Occurs most commonly on supervised loops.
Trouble
occurs when a fault happens on a 24-hr zone or when when the system is armed.
Alarm
Ensures that the customer’s touchscreen is connected via Wi-Fi.
Broadband Signal Strength
Ensures that the customer’s touchscreen is connected via cellular service.
Cellular Signal Strength
If a life safety device is triggered, the central monitoring station (CMS) calls two numbers to see if emergency response is required.
Call to Verify (CTV)
All life safety devices must be triggered to verify functionality.
Sensor testing
5) Where technicians verify that every signal has been tested with the central station and confirming that sensor testing results show as pass.
Account Information Portal (AIP)
Verifies that all sensors are within the acceptable signal thresholds in the XHS system.
