reliance on marriages; the auld alliance presents the threat of a 2 front war; the male heirs he had arent looking so reliable now, and once elizabeth of york dies, who knows if he can have many more

spain isnt willing to send their lass over when england is a bit dangerous dealing with perkin warbeck, uprising etc. but other than that henry is thinking big. maybe he can marry joanna (catherines sister) to philip of burgundy so spain & burgundy are mates and england has an alliance with burgundy by association
