  • Interactionist view - small level of conflict can encourage creative thinking
  • Too much conflict = creative thinking is shut down
  • Relationship conflict = attention directed towards personal problems so do not utilise creative thinking
  • Task conflict = creative thinking will be used to address task-relevant conflicts
