when working in confined spaces (trenches), you must take into consideration:
- the task
- the working environment
- working materials and tools
- the suitability of those carrying out the task
- arrangments for emergency rescue
when working at heights, regulations require duty holders to ensure:
- all working at heights is properly planned and organized
- all working at heights takes into account weather considerations that could endanger health and safety
- equipment for working at heights is appropriately inspected
when working near unguarded machinery, you must:
- ensure it is suitable for the intended use
- it safe to use, maintained in a safe condition, and in certain circumstances, inspected to ensure it remains the case
- only to be used by people who have received adequate training, guidance, and instructions
- accompanied by safety measures
