Q
General Diuretics
A
BP = our body may inappropriately retain H2O to treat BP, diuretics remove excess sodium and H20
MOA:
- increased urinary output
- decreased circulating volume, which means decreased cardiac output which decreases BP
- decreased arterial resistance
2
Q
Diuretics + BP
A
diuretics decrease BP by decreasing cardiac output
- block sodium and chloride reabsorption and water follows salt
3
Q
Cardiac output =
A
HR x stroke volume
