What are the advice on breastfeeding for the first few days?
- Skin to skin contact
- Feed often
- Fewer feeds once mature milk is produced
- More breastfeeds = more milk
What is colostrum?
- First milk produced
- Contains antibodies (WBC)
- High: carbs + protein
- Mild laxative
How often should you breastfeed?
8x every 24hrs
Outline the equality act 2010
- Business can’t discriminate against mothers breastfeeding child of any age
- Unlawful to ask someone to leave/refuse to serve bc they’re breastfeeding
