Sow in drills, 1.5cm deep, 15cm apart in April to June.

How do you maintain winter cabbage
Remove any yellow or rotting leaves and inspect for pests and diseases regularly. Irrigate when dry.

October
When to harvest
October to late march
What method of harvesting should be used?
Single harvest for the entire head.
How to store
Can be stored in a cold, dry shed, with airflow around each cabbage. Leave 15cm of stem. Cover with newspaper if temperatures drop.
How long can they be stored for
3 to 4 months.
One pest and it’s control
Cabbage white caterpillars. Eat foliage. Handpick off the plant.
One disease and it’s control
Club root. swollen knobbly roots. Lime the soil, improve drainage, rotate crops and use resistant varieties.
Transplant spacing
30-45cm apart
