Where a crop is harvested once, once it has reached maturity.
What is cut and come again harvesting?
Vegetables which can be harvested at seedling, semi-mature and mature stages of growth.
How can spinach be used for cut and come again harvesting?
Leaves are cut when they are still young and then left to grow again. It is important to ensure that the growing point is not damaged when harvesting the leaves or it will not regrow.
How can spinach be used for single harvesting?
Spinach can be allowed to grow to maturity, and then harvested in one go.
How can lettuce be used for single harvesting?
Lettuce can be harvested once the whole head has grown to maturity by cutting the stalk with a sharp knife at the base.
