Piaget’s stages of development?
Sensory-motor stage:
- 0-2 yrs old
- Intelligence in action: child interacts with the environment by manipulating objects.
Pre-operational stage:
- Preconceptual (2-4yrs) (language development occurs)
- Intuitive (4-7yrs) (Child influenced by their perception of environment)
Concrete Operation:
- 7-11 yrs
- Logical Reasoning can only be applied to objects that are real or seen.
Formal Operations:
- 12 and up.
- Individual can logically think about potential events or abstract ideas.

Seriation
Seriation refers to the ability to sort objects or situations according to any characteristic, such as size, color, shape, or type
Transitivity
Transitivity refers to partial order and equivalence relations. E.g.,
whenever A > B and B > C, then also A > C
Decentering
Decentering (also known as Decentration) refers to the ability to consider multiple aspects of a situation.E.g., when asked to choose between two lollipops, a child might choose based on how one flavor is better than the other even though the other is the same size and color.
