What is ‘wilson’s disease’?
A
- autosomal recessive metabolic disorder
- genetic defect in chr 13
- copper accumulates initially in the liver and other organs

What is the pathophysiology of ‘wilson’s disease’?
A
- ceruloplasmin production is reduced
- copper cannot bind to ceruloplasmin to be stored and transported
- free copper in the blood accumulates and causes sx
