- biliary tract obstruction
- bile stasis
- bacterial infection of bile
- infection ascends the billiary tract and may reach liver

- cholecystitis

Name 3 clinical features?
A
‘Charcot’s triad’
- abdominal pain
- high fever
- jaundice

What is ‘Reynold’s pentad’
A
- charcot cholangitis triad
+ - hypotension
- mental status change

What are the results of lab tests?
A
- leukocytosis
2. high CRP

Imaging
A
- RUQ Ultrasound
2. ERCP if high clinical suspicion

Tx
A
- ERCP is both diagnostic and theraputic
- Immediate mx
- IV Abx -
- IV fluid
- Oxygen
- Analgesia
