Meaning:
The adventures that they have travelling the world. She contrasts it to how she grew up in before she met them. Living in a rural area with little need for money/education, finds her life very different than the urban world.
Stanza 1
City life, repetition of ‘tidily plotted’ emphasise point. ‘Smell of smog’ shows how dirty it can be. ‘People are made of places’, history, where they grew up nurture.
Stanza 2
Country life, indent to show freedom/less order, like nature. Her connection to nature with where she grew up, ‘hens’ and ‘chickens’. Fond memories, better than city.
Stanza 3
She remembers something, ‘door in the…’, ‘frost’, maybe something that she doesn’t want to remember a bad memory, frost, evil not nice.
