Flap configuration approaches
With vertical guidance in IMC - flaps down at the FAF
With vertical guidance in VMC - flaps down no lower than 500’ agl
With level-off MDA - flaps down when leaving MDA

When is Rudder Boost required to be operational?
For all flights
Usable fuel in pounds. TOTAL = _____, MAIN TANK ______, AUX TANK ______
Total = 3611
Main tank = 1273 (x2) = 2546
Aux tank = 533 (x2) = 1066
Define what a Hot Start is?Define what a Hung Start is?
Hot Start = ITT above 1000c more than 5 seconds
Hung Start = N1 slows/stops around 30% of N1
Cruise climb #s by altitude from sea level to FL350. Sparky seemed to think this could be an oral question.
Sea Level to 10K - 170 kts 10,000 to 15,000 - 160kts 15,000 to 20,000 - 150kts 20,000 to 25,000 - 140kts 25,000 to 30,000 - 130kts 30,000 to 35,000 - 120kts
Steep Turns
- Set flight director to “gunsight”
- Cardinal heading
- A/P On
- if speed is > 180, set torque to 22-33%, props 1500
- Airspeed s/b 170
- Set torque to 43%, Airspeed increases to 180
- Disconnect A/P and roll into 45 degree bank turn, lock your self into seat, remove hand from power
lever and place “BOTH” hands on controls - Establish 2.5 degree nose up
- WORK YOUR SCAN….START ROLL OUT 20 DEGREES PRIOR TO CARDNIAL HEADING
Departure Stall
- Gear up with flaps approach
- Reduce torque to 5%, and begin pitching smoothly up
- Bank to 20 degrees
- First sign of stall, RECOVER
