What is self concept?
the collection of ideas, information, attitudes and beliefs we have about ourselves
What is self-esteem
Self-esteem is a more global satisfaction and pride we have in our selves
What is self-efficacy?
Self-efficacy is our belief, expectation or judgement of how well or poorly we will cope with a situation given the skills we possess and the circumstances we face
What is academic self-efficacy
Academic self-efficacy beliefs will affect what kinds of activities an individual is willing to engage in, how
much effort they invest and how long they persist, and the quality of thinking during problem solving
What are Kohlbergs three stages of moral development?
Pre-conventional morality (obedience and punishment), Conventional morality (social approval), Post-conventional morality (balance of social order and rights)
What are social skills?
Social skills refer to specific behaviours utilised within a specific social activity or interaction
What is social competence?
Social competence is a broader construct that includes having the ability to evaluate a given situation and understand what the social criterion and
expectations are, and having the ability to judge when and how to use the required social skills within a given context.
