Gastritis (Description):
Any of a group of conditions in which the stomach lining is inflamed.
Inflammation, irritation, or erosion of the lining of the stomach. It can occur suddenly (acute) or gradually (chronic).

Caused by local irritant

Autoimmune

Chronic use of NSAIDs

Pathological Changes:
Chronic inflammatory process leading to atrophy of the glandular epithelium. May become dysplastic.

Progression
Autoimmune G- gastric mucosa atrophy, pernicious anemia, cancer
Infectious Gastritis- gastric atrophy and intestinal metaplasia or dysplasia

A sore that develops on the lining of the esophagus, stomach, or small intestine.

Predominantly due to H. Pylori
