Q

Diabetes Classification & Etiology (Cause)

Type 2 (Senile)
Onset & Etiology:
A

Onset around >40 years of age. Overweight individuals and those genetically predisposed are most at risk.

Caused by impaired insulin production, insulin resistance, and increased hepatic glucose production.

Infection:

A

Increased chance of infection caused by neuropath, hyperglycemia, and altered white cell function.
