Week 9 task analysis framework Flashcards
5 core elements have been identified for the CU DPT curriculum
- patient centered care
- evidence- based practice and clinical reasoning
- movement for participation
- teamwork and collaboration
- quality improvement and safety
What is the 6 step task analysis framework created by hedman and colleague
- initial conditions
- preparation
- initiation
- execution
- termination
- outcome
what are the 4 questions presented by hedman and collegues to address in the task analysis
- what is the problem
- where does the problem interfere with function
- what are the underlying determinants of the problem
- how can the problem be treated
What is the order of observational task analysis
- identify task related determinants
- understand typical movement patterns
- identify movement deviation
- create hypotheses for any deviation
- test hypothesis
Person in relation to task analysis
patient centered and includes cognitive, behavior and physical domains
ability of the person to orient and attend to the activity and the environment, communication
cognitive characteristic
anxiety, facial expressions, apparent emotions both verbal and non verbal
behavioral affect
height weight general level of obesity, asymmetry
physical person
lighting, surfaces, obstacles, assistive devices
physical environmental
parental support, peer support, motivation, competition
psychosocial characteristic environment
external feedback, visual and tactile guidance, instructions
informational environment
discrete task
movement has a recognizable beining and end
continuous task
moevement has no definable begining or end
serial task
task made up of a series of individual movements tied together
independent
no physical or cognitive assistance required
patient meet criteria for independence withe exception that use of assistive equipment is necessary
modified independent
supervision by one person positioned close to but not touching the person performing the activity for safe and effective task performance
standby assitance
patient requires more than 25% assistance to safely complete the task in an acceptable time frame, oral or tactile cues, directions and or instructions may be used
minimal assistance
patient requires 26-50% assistance to safely complete the task in a acceptable time frame; oral or tactile cues direction and or instructions may be used
moderate assistance
patient requires 51-75% asssitance of safely complete the task in an acceptable time frame
maximal assiatnce
total physical assistance from one or more persons required for safe accomplishment of the task
dependent assistance
