A
primarily used to assess individuals with COPD, heart failure and healthy older and elderly populations
- a measure of functional status that represents the capacity to carry out ambulatory activities of daily living

- simple, inexpensive
- corresponds to a functional activity of daily living
- can be used with a wide population with various diagnoses
- standard time rather than predetermined distance may provide better test of endurance
- allows participants to set their own pace and stop if necessary
