unexplanned casulites: multiple with serious ilness and patterns of illness
unusal liquids, vapour, fog, smell
suspicious devicous/pacakges
unusaly dead or dying incects/anaimals
what are the priorities in a CBR incident?
saftey dont rush in stay upwind be mindful of secondary deccvices traige decontamination specific managment
what specific manamgnet is needed for CBR incidents?
full PPE triage removal casulties to rpevent further exposure BLS positioning airway mangment antidote administration decontaminition ongoing managment transport
what happens in decontamination?
under control agency direction strip of clothing and double bag flush with water cover affected area be mindful of airway during decontamination
what are some decontamination challanges>
delays at secene
casulties may flee scene and self rpesent to hospital
casulties need to be decontaminated prior to hospital
hypothermia, airway comrpmise, anxiety due to loss of scenes
what is level A PPE?
fully encapsulated gas tight suit
breathing apparatus and provides maxium level of respiritoy and skin protection
what is level B PPE?
chemical splash suit
breathing apparatus
nitrile gloves and chemcial resistant boots - provides maximum skin protection but lesser degreee skin protection
What is level C PPE?
chemcial splash suit
full face air purifer respirator
nitral gloves
used when airborn contaminaites are known and atmoshpere has normal oxygent levels
what is level D enhanced PPE?
white tyvek overal
boot covering, nirtal gloves, saftey gloves, P2 masks maybe face sheild
what are some difficulties faced when using PPF?
communication hard to hear, loose senses
motor skills - restricted movement
psysical stress - fatigue and hotness
what are the emergency horn signals for fire fighters in PPE?
for evacuation - 3 beeps with pasuses in between
for ceasing operation or queit - continuous beep for 3 seconds
to resume operations 2 seconds beep then short blast
