Symptoms of Anxiety Disorders
- Ritual Acts: Such as hand washing or cleaning.
- Repetitive thoughts: Such as OCD or excessive thoughts of anxiety and worry.
- Restlessness, Keyed up, on edge.
- Easily fatigued.
- Difficulty concentrating, irritability, muscle tension, sleep disturbance, significant distress or impairment.
Define Stigma
Negative attitudes about a person that places them apart as unacceptable.
Define Intelligence
A socially constructed concept that differs from culture to culture.
Define Cognitive Intelligence
Intellectual abilities such as logic, reason, reading, writing, analysing and prioritising.
- Utilises the neocortex, not the emotional centres of the brain.
- Does NOT involve people skills.
- Capacity to understand, learn, recall, think rationally, solve problems and apply what you have learnt.
Define Emotional Intelligence
The ability to perceive, understand, manage, and use emotions. Understanding your own and others emotions.
Define the Binet-Simon Scale
It is a test to predict performance and identify mental retardation. It had 3 stages:
- Vocabulary: What does misanthropy mean?
- Comprehension: Why do people borrow money?
- Verbal Relations: What does an orange, Apple and pear have in common?
Define depression
Anger to yourself. It is an egocentric condition.
-26% of 18-24 age is depressed.
Define Anxiety Disorders
Excessive Anxiety and Worry (apprehensive expectation), occurring more days than not for at least 6 months, about a number of events or activities (such as work or school performance).
