Week 7 - Anterior Permanent Teeth Flashcards
What are mamelons
lobes on the top of incisal edge of teeth
they are normally worn down due to normal occlusal
Why do mamelons form
- teeth develop from lobes
- lobes develop and coalesce within the bony crypt
- incisors develop from 4 lobes: 3 facial and 1 lingual
- developmental grooves are the junctions of these lobes
- mamelons are the most incisal view of these lobes
what is the ideal occlusion between mandibular incisor and maxillary incisor
the mandibular incisal edge occludes against the maxillary incisors’ cingulum
what tooth has the longest root
canines
How many roots do incisors have
1
At the moment of clinical eruption what length of the incisor roots have developed
approx 2/3 (1/2 to 3/4)
How many roots do canines have
1
what is the canines relationship in normal class 1 occlusion
when the mesial slop of upper canine coincides with the distal slope of lower canine
overjet
overbite
open bite
What tooth is mostly removed to fix tooth aesthetics and crowding
first primary molar
What tooth can present with bifurcation of the apical 1/3 of their root
mandibular canine
How many line angles are present in a maxillary central incisor
6
What type of teeth has the greatest crown variation
maxillary lateral incisors
