Week 7 Flashcards
Deliberation and automation
Deliberation is a process of careful and thoughtful consideration, discussion, and analysis of various options or ideas before making a decision. It involves weighing pros and cons, gathering information, and often includes input from multiple stakeholders.
Automation refers to the use of technology and systems to perform tasks or make decisions with minimal or no human intervention. It aims to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and reduce the potential for human error.
Coherence vs. Fragmentation
Coherence refers to the idea that culture provides a sense of unity, meaning, and order in society. It suggests that culture is a unifying force that helps bind individuals and communities together.
Fragmentation, on the other hand, suggests that culture is not always a unifying force but can be diverse, multifaceted, and even contradictory. It acknowledges that cultures within a society can vary widely, and people may hold divergent and even conflicting cultural values and beliefs
