Interpersonal communication

Public (speech in public setting)
This type of communication establishes how personal to impersonal how our relationship is with the receiver/s.

BARRIERS TO EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
-The use of jargon
-Emotional factors
-Entertaining distractions
-Differences in perspectives
-Physical disabilities such as hearing problems or speech difficulties
This can only be to your advantage if you use them for the proper audience.
Jargon or unfamiliar words
include not being comfortable with topics like politics,
religion, sexuality, sex, or disabilities.

As unique individuals, we have different perspectives, but these differences
should not be the reason you cannot send or receive messages effectively.

they may lead to wrong assumptions or stereotyping.
Each culture is unique, but there are ways to bridge the differences so that you
can understand each other. Be sensitive and observe the hints given by your
receiver.

For people with disabilities, it will take a lot of determination to overcome
this barrier. The first thing that they should learn is acceptance of their current
situation. Then and only then would they be able to discover ways to be effective
even if they have disabilities.
Before sending a message, make sure you speak the same language as your
receiver to ensure understanding. Besides the difference in language, unfamiliar
accents could also pose difficulties in understanding the message.
