DELUSIONS (Beliefs)
perception-like experiences that occur without an external stimulus
Hallucinations (perceptions)
inferred from disorganized speech, loose associations, tangentiality,
incoherence, “word salad”
disorganized thinking (Speech)
grossly disorganized or abnormal movements that can interfere with daily living
Abnormal motor behavior:
an absence or lack of normal mental function involving thinking, behavior, and
perception
Negative symptoms
the failure to generate effective psychological coping
mechanisms in response to stress, resulting in personality disturbance or
disintegration, especially that which causes relapse in schizophrenia
decompensation
the first phase of psychosis, where the person starts to
experience changes in themselves, but have not yet started experiencing
clear-cut psychotic symptoms.
