What are ethics?
-Responsible and morally right conduct

Nuremberg Trial
-‘ the drs trial’ tried 23 physicians from the German Nazi party for crimes against humanity for unethical and inhumane experiments on unwilling prisoners of war
-Nuremberg code (1947) developed, 10 ethical principles to protect pp’s in research
Nuremberg Code
- Consent is essential
- results of any experiment must be for the greater good of society
- human exp should be based on animal exp
- exp should be conducted to avoid physical or mental suffering
- no risk of death
- risks should not outweigh the benefits
