ex. literature review
why is it important for a researcher to identify their paradigm
to determine any sources of bais
how do you develop a PICo question
Population: identify the broad group of people your interested in studying
Interest: specific health issue/phenomonon you want to investigate
Context: setting where the study will take place
how do you develop a PICOTS question
Population
Intervention/issue: specific action you’re interested in studying
Comparison: how that action compares to not doing an action at all
Outcomes: result you want to measure
Timing: duration over which the outcomes will be measured
Setting (narrows population): environment the study will take place
what are the three vital parts of a PICOTS question
Population
Intervention/issue
Outcome
everything else is optional and not necessarily needed
what is a boolean operator
adding “and” and “or” to a research search in order to narrow down search
also brackets
and will narrow
or will expand
what are the three main boolean operator
