Intersectionality
Concept that there are many layers to one self. It is our connections between people. Founded by a case study where it showed how different people have diverse intersectionalities.
Intersectionality refers to the interconnected nature between social groups.
In nursing, we should be able to learn and bring the right care to them.
It is very important to meet our needs. It is catering to meet the needs of everyone.
Understanding health challenges at a more collective level, and nurses are obligated to focus on social justice ( the fair distribution of societies benefits, responsibilities)

How can we reflect?
Thinking back and analyzing our actions, words to grow
- Reflection in Action: in the moment, what led to sucess? thinking on your feet, acting straight away
- Reflection on Action : after the moment, what could have led to greater sucess, thinking in hindight, what can you do next time?
Stages of reflection
- What happened: details, emotions
- why does it matter: reflection on why did it happen and what could have been done different
- what next: The most important as it requires asking how will you change your pratice and tets your plans out to see the sucess or not
Gibbs Reflective Cycle
- Description: what happened
- Feeling: what were you feeling
- Evaluation: what was good and bad
- Analysis: what sense can you make
- Conclusion: what else could have been done
- Action Plan: if it arose again what would you do
