What is weather?
It is a mixture of rain, sunshine and wind.
Name the 3 things that all weather have.
- Heat from the sun
- moving air
- water
Name the types of weather.
Cloudy, windy, rainy, sunny, snowy, cold, calm
What are hurricanes and tornadoes?
They are very strong winds which can cause damage to plants, houses and animals.
What is a drought?
It is a long time without rain.
It happens because of the heat from the sun. Rivers dry up, plants die and there are cracks in the soil.
Scientists who study the weather are called?
Meteorologists.
They measure the weather and give use weather forecast.
Which is the sunniest place in the world?
Yuma in Arizona.
It has 12 hours of sun each day
What is wind?
When air moves across the earth.
What is a cloud?
A puffy thing that moves across the sky.
What is rain?
When water falls from the clouds.
What is snow?
Flakes of frozen water falling from the cloud.
What warms up the surface of the earth?
The sun
