What are manufactured (processed) materials?
They are materials that are made from natural materials. They are also called man-made or artificial materials.
Give examples of manufactured materials.
plastic, steel, glass, paper, nylon.
Which was the first artificial fibre ever made?
Nylon
Where does rubber come from?
It is a natural material that comes from the white juice of a rubber tree.
Give examples of things that are made of rubber.
Tyres, elastic band, gumboots, rubber gloves.
Where does paper come from?
It is manufactured from wood from a bamboo tree.
Name things made from paper.
Books, envelopes, newspapers, magazines.
Where does cotton come from?
It comes from the seedpod of a cotton plant.
