How do we test for Starch?
A
- Add drops of iodine to a solution
- Positive : Blue / black
- Negative : Remains Brown / orange

A
- Add drops of a Biuret solution
- Positive : Violet / purple
- Negative : Remains blue

How do we test for Lipids?
A
- Mix with ethanol
- Layer of white, cloudy emulsification of fat formed at the top of solution

How do we test for glucose?
A
- Add Benedicts solution
- Heat at 60-70 degrees in water bath for 5 mins
- Take test tube out of water bath
- Positive : Orange to brick red
- Negative : Stays blue
