What is justification?
God’s pardoning of our sins and declaring us righteousness.
What is the nature of justification?
A legal act of pardon and imputation of the record of Christ.
What are two parts?
Pardon of sin, declaration of righteousness
What contributes to justification?
Nothing on the part of the recipient
How men partake?
By faith alone
What is the instrument?
Faith
What are the grounds?
The perfect work of Christ
At what time in the experience of the elect person does he receive justification?
When he is convinced of sin, understands the offer, and receives Christ
If we are justified, why need to confess sins?
Because we still sin
How old covenant saints justified?
Same way as new covenant, but with less knowledge of Christ’s work
What is regeneration?
Immediate union with Christ
What are the three aspects of faith?
Knowledge, assent, receiving and resting on Christ
Is righteousness infused or imputed?
Imputed
