What is free will?
Natural liberty of the will so that there is no necessity causing its decisions nor is it forced by God.
A spontaneous function of the soul.
Your soul decides its highest good (summum bonum) and decides.
Aka “human agency”
What was free will before the fall?
Man had the power to will and to do that which was pleasing to God, but mutably so he could fall.
What is Free Will after the fall?
Lost all ability to any spiritual good accompanying salvation so that he is not able to convert or prepare himself.
Dead in sin.
What is Free will in renewed man?
Able to freely will and do spiritual good. But not perfectly nor only.
Freed from the natural bondage of sin.
What will be Free Will in glory?
Perfectly and immutably free to do good alone!!!
