What is sin?
Sin is any want of conformity unto, or transgression of the Law of God
What is the relation of God to the fall?
God permitted the fall, purposed to order it to his own glory.
Rom. 11:32 For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to all.
What is our relation to Adam?
Adam is the root of all mankind, our first parent, and the federal head of humanity.
What are the consequences of the fall?
Mankind fell into an estate of sin and misery. The sin including Adam’s guilt, want of original righteousness, and the miseries including the loss of communion with God, miseries in this life, death, and the pains of hell forever.
What do we call this condition (of incurring Adam’s guilt, want of original righteousness, and the corruption of the whole nature)?
Original sin
In what way is sin still in Christians?
The corruption of our nature remains though it is pardoned and mortified.
What are the four types punishment for sin?
Loss of communion with God
Miseries in this life
Death
The pains of hell forever
