Ways to improve treatment response Flashcards

1
Q

What issues have there been surrounding prevention of affective disorders?

Q

How can early intervention improve treatment response?

A

1: Currently long delay in treatment
2: Longer the delay in treatment the longer the worse the outcome
3: Early intervention in psychosis proven to be beneificial- for individual and cost

Q

Why is Personalisation an important factor in treatment of affective disorders?

A

Inflammation has been shown to decrease response to antidepressants

HPA axis and cortisol levels have been shown to decrease the response to therapies.

But there is evidence that each also reduce reaction to treatment generally.
