Why do you want to be a warrant officer?
Captain, it’s been one of my goals since I joined the CG. I came from humble beginnings. I had a pretty rough childhood. I was married and had a son with when I joined the CG. The CG has provided for my family and me. Becoming a warrant officer would be a huge accomplishment and honor for me.
Why do you want to take the Warrant route vice the Chief to Master Chief Route?
Honestly going either route would be a great honor. I would like to go as far as I can in this organization and going to Warrant Route gets me closer to my goal of making W4.
Name an example of a bad leadership experience you have had?
At my last tour in Oregon, I was accused of Sexual Harassment. The first thing my Chief did was take the side of the accuser without getting the facts from both sides. That was probably the worst experience that I have gone thru in the Coast Guard
Name an example of a good leadership experience you have had:
That actually happened recently. On my e-resume I put in for three jobs in oahu. Well it came to be that one of the jobs on Oahu was being moved to Alaska and I got that one. My warrant immediately got on the phone and fought for me. That meant the world to me.
Why do you want to be a warrant officer?
Captain, it’s been a goal of mine ever since I joined the coast guard…I believe I will be in a better position to help our mbrs and improve the coast guard
