TOR conditions….
> 16 yrs old, arrest not witnessed by EMS, no ROSC after 20 mins of resus, no defibs given
futile resus
when pt conditon is too far gone for resuscitaiton and does meet conditions for TOR
Trauma TOR indications & conditions
cardiac arrest secondary to trauma,
- >16 yrs, no palpable pulses, no defibs deliverd,, no Hr on monitors, closest ED>30 mins
contraindications for trauma TOR
<16 yrs, defibs delivered, signs of life since fully extricated, closest ER department <30 mins, penetrating traum to the torso, head/neck & lead truama center <30mins away
what should you always do before calling a TOR?
contact BHP, talk w family
DNR s valid if….
has a serial number & signed by physician and NP
DNR applies to….
the process fo their disease in which the DNR was initiated
DNR can be taken away at anytime by the pt…

transportation of deceased….. (3)
1-directed so by the coroner
2- death in a public area
3- pronouncement occurs enroute to the hospital
do not leave all tubes in play affter calling a TOR…t/f
FALSE: leave everything in place for the coroner
contraindications for TOR
hypothermia, Hypothermia secondary to drowning, peds ( <16yrs), high volt electric shock, Od pt, Shockable rhythm w no DNR
verbal report to the coroner shuld include…..
age/gender.HPI/time of arrest/arrest witnessed or not, assesment findings, inital & final ECG interpretation, care provided, PMHx, BHP name & time of TOR, ACR or ePCR ID#, name/badge of police
wrist id should have……
date, COB, pt full name, coroners name, paramedic service/OASIS number, paramedic signature
