ppl w scheziphrenia have less active prefrontal cortexes, larger ventricles, and stronger activity in the right hemisphere ( t/f)

diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia?
- has s/s for at least 6 months w severe affects
type 1= possitive syndrome - hallucinations, delusions, derailment, bizzarre behaviour, sudden onset, variable coursem good med response, limbic sys abrnom, normal brain ventricles
type 2- negative= emotional flattening, asociality, apathy, insidious onset, chronic course, uncertain med response, frontal lobe abnormality & enlarged ventricles
schizophrenia tx:
anitpsychotitcs, mood stabalizers, antidepressants, sedatives, EVT, therapies
schizoaffective disorder
schizophrenia w a mood disorder (s/s of shizophreia w/ mania)
delusional disorder
false belife of what is real despite opposing evidence
brief psychotic disorder
sudden onset of s/s <1month ( rare but sometimes stress induced)
schizotypal pd
strange/odd behaviour, socially anxious, no delusions/hallucinations
major depressive disorder
