Vicarious trauma:
hoe we are affected by someone elses traumatic event
compassion fatigue:
unable to keep giving someone compassion for extended periods of time, due to additional stressors: combination of physical/emotional/spiritual stress
Burnout:
becoming negative and washed of energy, stress becomes too much, need a break
cumulative stress response?
More gradual, less dramatic, caused by repeated exposure to a chronic stressor
trauma:
an event that occurs outside of ones normal experiences–> fear
- can be a result of behaviours, natrual occurrences/physical attack/critical incidents.
- can be real/preceivd
Traumatic stress:
response to a traumatic event, can become chronic
- extereme emotional flashbacks
vicarious traumatization:
- can cause a person to become overly involved, fear ones safety, cause intrusive thoughts/images
ex: irritability, can not concentration, decreased interest, anxiety, ++HR
work related stress:
direct exposure: something you are involved in
indirect: stories/things you hear about thats someones elses trauma
secondary traumatic stress:
what you feel after the exposure..like PTSD in presentation
ex: can not forget a call
carious resilience:
over coming adversity from trauma of a survivor that gives you a sense of positivity for yourself.
