- PHYSICAL body is purified and ultimately transcended by the practice of Asanas and by sattwic diet.
- ENERGY is balanced by the practice of Pranayama.
- The EMOTIONAL MIND is purified and transcended by chanting, repetition of mantra, ritual and selfless service.
- The INTELLECT by study of the scriptures, right inquiry (“Who am I?”) and meditation.
- The ultimate goal is reached through samadhi (state of meditative consciousness.
