How is surya namaska first few rounds diffeerent?
FIRST 2 rounds knees chest chin, baby cobra first 2 rounds. Then Every class give them the option to do that or plank/chaturangua followed by updog/urha muka svansana instead.
What is the main intention of Surya Namaskar (soor-ya- nuh-muh-ska)?
SUN SALUTATION
Main intention of sun salutation is to get people flowing in a rhythm. Rock back and forth. After we have done maybe 3 or 4 Surya Namaskar we might slow it down a bit and do deeper stretching slower rounds with alignments.
Ultimately you will teach from your practice (what does it feel like in your body)
Surya Namaskar/SUN SALS ARE ABOUT FLOW AND RHYTHM AND MOVEMENT. ITS GREAT FOR FIRST THING IN MORNING OR AFTER WORK GOOD WAY TO TRANSITION OK NOW I CAN GET INTO THE MOVEMENTS AND HOLDING POSTURES.

Breath timing tempo
Usually classes follow a 4 count breath
Sun salute a modified
Extra breath in chaturanga when coming forward.
Cue to breath tempo
Use entire length of breath to transition (if its 4 counts)
The breath comes a millisecond before the movement but ideally you want them to be at the same time.
