Socrates political views on justice:
He believes that people should do the jobs deemed best suited for them by the community to maintain order and allow the community to thrive, which is in everyone’s best interest.
Socrates is not concerned with individual freedoms, and that the happiness of a community trumps that.
Socrates metaphor for soul:
Socrates compares the soul to a two horse chariot.
One of the horses is represents a person’s appetite, and is stubborn, but must be controlled.
The other represents spiritedness, and is noble.
The spiritedness horse can be controlled by reason, to help control the stubborn horse.
If a person doesn’t realize how reason can be used by spiritedness in order to rein desire, then that person will be controlled by the stubborn horse.
What must a just person do according to Socrates?
Does their part to maintain the stability of the community, but is also in control of himself and is not controlled by their desires.
