Community-based Programs
refers to any form of detention or imprisonment, or to thenplacement of a child in conflict with the law in a public or private custodial setting, from which the child in conflict with the law is not permitted to leave at will by order of any judicial or administrative authority.
Deprivation of Liberty
refers to an alternative, child-appropriate process of determining the responsibility and treatment of a child in conflict with the law based on his/her social, cultural, economic, psychological or educational background without resorting to formal court proceedings.
Diversion
refers to the program that the child in conflict with the law is required to undergo after he/she is found responsible for an offense without resorting to formal court proceedings.
