- An aggressive youth who resents the authority of anyone who tries to control their behavior.
• SOCIAL
- A youth who has internalized their conflicts and is preoccupied with their own feelings.
• NEUROTIC
- A youth whose delinquent acts have a cold, brutal quality for which they feel no remorse.
ASOCIAL
- A youth who is less identifiable in character, generally law-abiding, but happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, becoming involved in a delinquent act that is not typical of their general behavior
ACCIDENTAL
Stages of Delinquency
Emergency stage - age 8 to 10
Exploration stage - age 10 to 12
Explosion stage - around age 13
Conflagration stage - around age 15
Outburts stage - adulthood
At this stage, delinquent behaviors are usually minor and harmless, such as petty theft. The offending is relatively simple and
homogeneous.
