17
Q

With the parking brake ON the aircraft starts to roll. What should you do?

A

Release the parking brake and use the toe brakes

18
Q

Why must the engines be stabilized before takeoff (warm up period?)

A

Avoid thermal shock and to ensure they are not being fed from the center tank

19
Q

If ground crew noticed a fuel leak from the engine during start what must be done?

A

On a 321NEO - abort the start, call MCC
All other aircraft: if the leak stops within 5 mins you’re good to go, otherwise shut it down and call MCC

20
Q

Why do we use the Yellow electric pump when single engine taxiing?

A

Nosewheel steering is on the Yellow system

21
Q

If both Radar and Terrain are needed in a flight which pilot displays which?

A

PF displays RADAR, PM displays Terrain

22
Q

When should we use Ignition?

A

Standing water, heavy rain, or heavy or moderate turbulence is expected including just prior to takeoff

23
Q

Is the last minute changes before takeoff card required?

A

No, but it’s smart to use

24
Q

What are the target pitch attitudes after rotation for normal takeoffs, single engine, and windshear?

A

15, 12.5, 17.5 then follow SRS orders

25
Q

How do you conduct a Terrain Analysis?

A

Use the Flysmart Inflight DES OEI app. Then compare this altitude to the proposed new routing

26
Q

Why do we enter 0.1 (prev 0.3) on the PROG page for RNAV approaches?

A

It’ll alert the crew if accuracy drops below that, and during a go-around it’ll normally default back to 1.0 when we still want better accuracy

27
Q

If you select IMM EXIT from a hold what happens?

A

The aircraft proceeds directly back to the hold fix and exits the hold

28
Q

What should you be aware of when using Engine anti ice esp while on the ground?

A

Higher engine idle speeds

29
Q

After parking the engine fails to shut down. What do you do?

A

Select the Master back to ON, then OFF. If it still does not shut down use the affected ENG FIRE pushbutton. This however can take up to 2.5 mins to shut the engine down

30
Q

If there is an APU fire with the batteries off, will the APU fire bottle discharge?

A

No. There will be no APU fire protection at all

31
Q

In addition to confirming all thrust levers, guarded switches, and engine masters, what other switches must be confirmed in flight prior to operating?

A

IR selectors

32
Q

What is the order of operation for emergency situations?

A

Memory Items
OEB’s
ECAM
QRH

33
Q

If the ECAM procedure requires the crew to APPLY an eQRH procedure should the crew finish the ECAM or do the procedure.

A

Do the procedure. The exception is if the ECAM says “Consider”

34
Q

What are some inhibited ECAM’s on takeoff?

A

Sidestick fault, dual engine failure, engine fire, APU fire, FWC 1 and 2 fault, dual input

35
Q

Prior to the STATUS page while working ECAM actions what will the crew do?

A

Stop ECAM, consider a relight if it was an engine failure with no damage, consider system resets, perform the after takeoff or any other applicable checklist

36
Q

What is an ECAM advisory?

A

It calls crew attention to a parameter that is about to exceed a limitation

37
Q

Explain the roles of the Capt and FO during an evacuation

A

FO - proceeds to the cabin, exits the aircraft and assists passengers on the ground.

Capt - last person to leave the aircraft, through the rear door if possible to check cabin for passengers. Once outside takes command of ops until rescue operations arrive

38
Q

If you get an odor in the Cockpit what might you consider?

A

Elimination of odors in the Cockpit/cabin in Vol 2. If at anytime there is smoke coming from the avionics compartment or if the avionics smoke ECAM appears, or Fumes that smell like pine needles or orange peels: apply the SMOKE/FUMES procedure

39
Q

When is the ECAM inhibited on takeoff? For landing?

A

Takeoff - 80 knots to 1500’ or 2 mins
Landing: - 800’ to 80 knots

40
Q

What is the difference between the low and high speed abort regime? What should be considered?

A

Below 100 knots - low speed regime, abort for any ECAM
Above 100 knots and below V1 - high speed regime. Should be go-minded. Abort should only be done for uninhibited ECAMS, fires, loss of control, loss of engine thrust, etc

41
Q

Below what speed will the auto brakes not activate during a rejected takeoff? Why?

A

Below 72knots. Because the spoilers will not deploy and auto brake functioning is based on spoiler activation.
