Bureau Commander
Deputy Chief reports directly to the Chief Deputy of Operations. Manages and administers the Bureau. Responds to major emergencies, Interpretation and implementation of Department policy.
Assistant Bureau Commander
Assistant Chief the serves as an executive assistant to the Bureau Commander. Serves as Acting Bureau Commander, Provides functional and line supervision for Bureau personnel and management of their support equipment and facilities. Supervises the Air Operations Commander.
Disaster Preparedness Section
Battalion Chief that reports to the Commander, Special Operations Division. Supervises and directs the activities of the Disaster Preparedness Officer, USAR Unit, CERT Unit, Disaster Awareness Training Unit and the Wildland Fuel Management Unit.
Urban Search And Rescue Unit
Assigned to the Disaster Preparedness Section. The Captain 2 assigned as the Unit Commander plans, schedules, and directs USAR training activities. Responds to technical rescue incidents and serve as a Technical Specialist to the IC.
Management Analyst 2
Conducts research and fiscal analysis for preparation of staff reports. Prepares personnel services contracts.
Disaster Preparedness Officer
Assigned to the Homeland Security Division. The Captain 2 assigned as the DPO Plans, Schedules and directs Disaster Preparedness activities. Supervise CERT Team.
Community Emergency Response Team Unit
Assigned to the Homeland Security Division. The Captain 1 Plans, Schedules and directs CERT activities, Supervise the training, represent the Department at civic functions and Meetings.
Disaster Awareness Training Unit
Disaster Area Coordinator (DAC) is assigned to the Disaster Preparedness Section. Plans Organizes and is responsible for the disaster awareness training. Maintains contacts with City Council offices and other civic organizations.
Wildland Fuel Management Unit
Captain 2 runs the day to day operations of the Heavy Equipment Company and is responsible for coordinating the training for the operators and swampers. Responds as a Dozer Boss and Dozer Strike Team Leader.
Firefighter/Heavy Equipment Operator
Maintains records relating to construction, maintenance and training activities. Manages work projects training programs for the Unit Commander. Schedules training on Dozers, Loaders, Transports, Dump Trucks, Motor Graders, Water Tenders and Dozer Tenders.
Management Analyst 2
Conducts research and fiscal analysis for preparation of staff reports. Prepares personnel services contracts, Coordinates the A Ops annual budget.
Senior Clerk Typist
Serves as the secretary to the A Ops Chief Deputy.
Performs clerical duties for the A Ops Commander and coordinates Division and Section projects.
Air Operations
BC reports to the Special Operations Division Commander. Administrative command over all activities involving Air Operations. Informing the command of, and requiring compliance.
Captain 2
Schedules and maintains records of aircraft operations. Liaisons and coordinates activities with other Department units and other agencies relating to air operations activities.
Chief Helicopter Pilot 5
Oversight of flight operations, including monitoring the aeronautical proficiency of all Air Operations command pilots and student pilots. Serves as the Air Ops Helicopter Pilot Training Officer.
Lean Helicopter Pilot 4
Responsible for activities in one of the following areas:
Safety Coordinator, providing expertise on aviation safety matters, maintaining liaison with appropriate organizations and gathering researching and disseminating aviation safety material. Maintenance Coordinator.
Helicopter Pilot
Sole responsibility for the safe operation of a helicopter in flight. Performing operators maintenance of the helicopter and related equipment.
Firefighter/Paramedics (Aeromedical Technician)
Provides, directs, and/or oversees patient care at the scene of EMS incidents during Air Ambulance transportation. Performs Helitac duties.
Air Operations Objetives
Emergency Ops- Provide tactical observation, Transporting personnel and equip, making water drops, search and rescue ops.
Non-Emergency- Fire prevention and pre-fire planning flights, high hazard fire patrol, aerial observation, photography/mapping, transporting city officials and providing helicopter service for other city depts.
Arson/Counter Terrorism Section
Assigned to the Special Operations Section. BC is the ACTS Commander. Responsible for the overall supervision and command. Evaluates data on the number of investigative cases assigned: arrests made and convictions to determine success of the process.
ACTS Captians
Aid in planning, directing, and coordinating training programs for the section. Assume duties relative to subpoena research, time keeping, complaints, and public inquiries. Coordinate section and department activities with related agencies.
Senior Investigator/ Case Management Coordinator
Same as the Investigators and evaluation of the progress and direction, and if necessary, guidance to the investigation on all aspects of the case.
Investigators
Investigate fire scenes to determine origin and cause. . Interrogate and/or interview suspects and witnesses in relation to fire incidents. Assist prosecutors in preparing court cases.
Emergency Services Liaison Officer
Captain 2 serves as an administrative assistant to the Bureau Commander. Assists in planning and coordinating Bureau programs. Facilitate communications throughout the Bureau. Respond to major emergencies.
EMS Liaison Officer
Paramedic Captain 2 serves as an administrative assistant to the Bureau Commander to help coordinate the EMS activities of the Bureau. Assist in planning and coordinating Bureau programs. Facilitate communications throughout the Bureau.
EMS Division Captains
Assisting the EMS Division Chief with planning and coordinating the Departments EMS program. Responding to major emergencies and participating as an on-call member of an incident management team.
Division Commander
Assistant Chiefs assigned as Division Commanders. Manages and Administers the affairs of the Division on a given platoon. Supervise and direct Battalion Commanders. Responds to emergencies as dispatched and assuming command on scene as the first Assistant Chief until relieved.
Battalion Commander
Manages and Administers the affairs of the Battalion on a given platoon. Responds to emergencies as dispatched, and when arriving as the first Chief Officer on scene, assumes command until relieved.
EMS District Captain
Assist the Division and Battalion Commanders manage EMS activities and to supervise emergency medical operations. Respond to emergencies as dispatched to provide medical supervision. Identify training needs, develop training programs and provide in-service training for all field personnel.
Task Force Commander (Captain 2)
Commands a Task Force Station. Assumes command from lower ranking officers until properly relieved.
Station Commander (Captain 1 or 2)
In charge of a fire station, assigned personnel and apparatus. Responds with the station complement and directs their activities at emergencies. Maintenance of the station and assigned equipment and apparatus. Planning, Scheduling, and directing station fire prevention, pre-fire planning, public and community events. Training personnel and maintaining records.
Company Commander
Responding with a company and directing its activities at emergencies. Responsible for all phases of command until properly relieved. Assisting the Station Commander in routine duteis.
Engineer
Driving apparatus and operating large capacity pumps in firefighting operations. Assisting in other fire fighting duties. Operating propulsion engines and pumps of major fire boats. Preventative maintenance on apparatus and equipment.
Apparatus Operatior
Driving and maintaining assigned apparatus. Operating aerial ladders and small capacity pumps. Assisting in other fire fighting duties. Preventative maintenance on apparatus and equipment.
Fireboat Mate
Subordinate to a Captain. Operates smaller fire boats and assists relieving Fireboat Pilots in the operation of a larger fire boat. Supervising the maintenance and conducting training in the operation of a fireboat.
Firefighter
Engaging directly in firefighting and rescue activities under the direction of the Station Commander. Performing non-emergency activities including maintenance fire prevention and public relations
Firefighter Paramedic
Providing, directing and or overseeing patient care at EMS incidents. Driving and maintaining assigned apparatus. Evaluating and training paramedic interns.
