Fowler’s Position
Patient in a semireclining position with the head elevated to help breathe easier and to control the airway.
Intraosseous (IO)
Lit. Into the Bone; medications given by IO reach the bloodstream thru the bone marrow. Immediate absorption rate
Cushing’s Triad
Re: significant head injuries that cause traumatic brain injury; includes increased BP (hypertension), decreased HR (bradycardia), and irregular respirations

Assessment tool that allows you to rapidly form a general impression of the infant or child w/o touching them; consists of assessing appearance, work of breathing & circulation to the skin
